I have a new favorite party theme. It’s called Gatsby. This past Saturday was my first experience partying 20’s style – and it was a roarin’ good time. I mean, what’s better than fringe, feathers, and guys in tuxedos? Not much, old sport.
I was in California all of last week, and this party was the best way to end my trip. Every time I visit, I stay with my close friend – someone I’ve know since junior high. She moved out west three years ago. I feel so lucky that when I’m there, I get to hang out with her and her amazing circle of friends – people who I now consider my friends, too. The Gatsby Gala was a unique party that not only celebrated her boyfriend’s sister’s birthday, but also brought together a great group of people decked out in beads and bow-ties. Keep reading to get a sneak peak of our jazzy night!
Beads and feathers to set the mood, big band music playing in the background.
Balloons that were an indication of the night to come…
The most popular area of the night.
You can never have enough fringe.
The fire was “roaring.”
Pool, balloons, lights – so Gatsby.
First bottle of champagne underway!
Champagne, Me, and the Birthday Girl.
Look at those dapper dudes!
Big fan of champagne, if you couldn’t tell : )
Mingle, mingle.
The Birthday Girl Beauty.
Everyone got so snazzy!
Smiles all around, plus the actual movie, The Great Gatsby (2013), playing in the background!
Until next time my lovelies! Can’t wait to see you soon, old sports.
love it! )

I am completely stealing your Gatsby Gala idea for New Years Eve! Gatsby is my favorite book ever and I love, love, loved the movie and the soundtrack is fantastic.
And, I’m always up for an evening where Bill can wear his tails and top hat! I think I may be the only person who’s boyfriend has his very own top hat. There aren’t many occasions these days that really call for a top hat…
Hope all is going well with you and the fam. Give everyone a hug for me and tell them I say Happy Thanksgiving!
Hope to see everyone soon! We should try and pick a date after the holiday craziness so we can have cousins drinks and dinner. I’ll see what works for people and let you know.
XOXO
