This week in Taking Notes: the cool, new blog I found. Plus, killer shoes, what to drink during the Olympics, and the best sunglasses for under ten dollars.

If you watched the news this week, you know that many parts of the country were affected, yet again, with snow and very cold temperatures. While the weather has definitely been less than desirable, it’s also proven to be inspiration for many bloggers. For example, I wrote this piece yesterday about how I’m putting all of this winter weather to good use. In addition, one of my favorite blogs, A Cup of Jo, shared a cute and artistic article on 10 Ways to Beat the Winter Blues.

Speaking of beating the winter blues, I found the perfect recipe that is sure to warm you up. How delicious does this look?

Last week, I shared a recipe for a White Winter Cosmo. This week, and because the Olympics officially start today, I’m sharing this adorable post on Olympic Cocktails. It includes three drinks that you can easily make at home and sip while you’re watching all the action from Sochi!

I stopped by a Payless ShoeSource this week to pick up a pair of shoes for work. Naturally, I left with more than just shoes. Did you know that Payless sells sunglasses?! I snagged the pair below for only TEN dollars ($9.99 to be exact). They are really sturdy, and I just love the round shape. Oh, and they’re available online.

And these are the shoes I wish I brought home from Payless…

I found a new blog this week! It’s called Neon Fresh and I just love it. The writer, Roo, is not only full of great information (Check out How Bloggers Make Money), but shes’s also so real and really funny (Check this one out).

Another beautiful post from one of my favorites on Instagram, Tyler Knott Gregson. This lovely photo and caption reminded me that everything we do today will move us to where we are meant to be tomorrow.
What did you take note of this week?

Hi Nats! I absolutely looove these! I also checked out Joanna’s post about beating the winter blues this week! Gemma’s illustrations are sooo adorable. P.S. I’m lovin’ your sunglasses! Payless really has some great finds. I stocked up on their fleece-lined leggings for my trip to freezing Ottawa next weekend. Definitely one of my most noteworthy purchases.;) Happy, happy weekend! – Donna
