Halloween: Day to Night to Day

Chances are, if you celebrate Halloween, you’re going to wake up the next day with a good story to tell. You saw the most outrageous costume, ate the most outrageous amount of candy, or stayed out until the most outrageous hour.

My first Halloween in California definitely fell into the outrageous category.

It all began with an office costume contest at my new job.

Halloween at the Office

Given my love of margaritas and the convenient availability of my roommate’s fiesta skirt, I decided to transform into a Señorita and treat my co-workers to some Margaritas.

A costume is never complete without props.

Towards the end of the workday, we all mingled around in our outfits and had a little Halloween celebration.

It was definitely fun to kick back with my colleagues and new friends.

Speaking of new friends – this one, my lovely roommate, was waiting for me at the Mondrian Los Angeles once I got out of work. Naturally, it was time to change into my night costume.

Two cadets joined forces with this army stud and then our Halloween night began.

We mixed a few cocktails…

…and said hello to Cruella Deville and one of her Dalmatians.

Cue the hotel dance party.

The night was off to a good start.

Soon, it was time to hit up WeHo.

But first, let’s take a ride on the swing.

Hollywood Halloween

We kicked off the night at our hotel’s Strange and Unusual party. (See above.)

The army clique enjoyed the outdoor setting, despite the sudden chill in the air.

From there, we took to the streets and joined hundreds of painted faces, wig wearers, and other unusual creatures.

Case and point. (Awesome makeup job by the way.)

The two cadets took a moment to snap a selfie, not realizing that they would soon have to duck for cover.

Hollywood Halloween

Luckily, we ran into this street cart just in time. As we savored the most delicious hot dogs ever made, the sky began to rumble. Something was about to go down.

Hollywood Halloween

Actually, something was about to come down.

Hollywood Halloween

RAIN. Rain, rain, rain. So much rain. The first time I’ve seen it rain since I moved out west.

Hollywood Halloween

And it just kept on coming. But did we duck for cover? Of course not. We danced in the rain with everyone else. It was amazing. The dance clubs nearby were blasting music and we just danced to the beats in the crowded, wet streets.

Hollywood Halloween

We eventually made it into one of those dance clubs to close out the night. The cameras were put away by then. This last shot shows our group in the height of the night – soaked, happy, and free in the middle of Hollywood. Can’t beat that.

Hollywood Halloween

Hours later, morning came. The two cadets awoke in this spacious piece of heaven. (Love that headboard.)

Hollywood Halloween

After packing our still damp costumes into our bags, we made our way to Laurel Hardware in West Hollywood for brunch, where we all ordered another piece of heaven – stuffed french toast.

Hollywood Halloween

Before we knew it, a post-Halloween celebration began – starting with a grapefruit mimosa.

Hollywood Halloween

Followed by a perfect Bloody Mary.

And, to complete the day, cucumber martinis at The Abbey.

Hollywood Halloween

They, like the night before, were simply outrageous.

  1. Hey Natz! Love everything about this post! Both your costumes are soooo hot and I love your makeup.:) P.S. Nothing beats eating hot dogs in the street and dancing in the rain. You and I could definitely hang out lol.

  2. That looked like a lot of fun for sure!
It would be nice if Maine had California’s weather, so we could have Halloween outside. I suppose if snow is okay with you, then you would fit in just fine!

Honestly, that zombie dude had one of the best makeup jobs I’ve ever seen…. though I gotta say, my favorite picture was of the stuffed french toast, dying over here now.

You and your whole crew looked great!
