I fell in love with brunch all over again this weekend.
In the process, I also uncovered another rare gem in the beautiful Hudson Valley. It’s a place that makes you feel like you were whisked away to an elegant estate in the hills of Tuscany only to be surrounded by gorgeous views, impeccable decor, and fed some unbelievably delicious food.
I’m talking about the Glenmere Mansion, a Tuscan-style hideaway in Chester, NY that overlooks rolling hills and beautiful Glenmere Lake. A former country home sitting on 150 acres, The Mansion is now a top-rated boutique hotel that has received glowing reviews from Forbes and other respected publications.
I visited the villa with a friend on a chilly, Sunday afternoon. We were welcomed by the stunning view of the Mansion’s grand entrance…

Next, we entered the warm lobby where the friendly staff greets you, takes your coat, and leads you to the Living Room.
The Living Room is home to plush couches and a self-playing Grand Piano.
This is the lovely Supper Room, where we sat down for Glenmere’s Champagne Brunch.
First Course: Duck Confit and Potato Hash
This was simply AMAZING.
First Course: Sicilian Lamb Meatballs
Second Course: Lobster Benedict
Yes, it tasted as good as it looks. My favorite part was that rather than an English Muffin, the eggs were served on a mini Toasted Brioche.
Drink of choice: Bloody Mary. Made with a homemade mix and some horseradish, it was just perfect.
Second Course: Grilled Skirt Steak and Sunny Side Eggs
Third Course: Dark Chocolate Mousse
Another shot of the delicious-ness. Look at those raspberries!
Third Course: The Dessert Special
Chocolate goodness with bananas.
After brunch, we took to the grounds to explore for a bit…
…just in time for a gorgeous sunset!
The hills and sunset over Glenmere Lake.
Just as my fingertips were starting to tingle, we made our way to the other side of the Mansion and took a look at the pool area – a place that I’m sure is perfect during the summer season.
I could definitely hang here once July rolls around. Guess I’ll just have to come back : )
What areas did you explore this weekend?
Yeah, that would make me fall in love with brunch again, too!
